We traveled to Wachusett Mountain last week to see what Eric the new park manager had in store. We arrived to find a triple jump line, a step up and down jump, along with a plethora of rails.

Park Update #2 - Waterville Valley

While the rest of you fools were waiting in line that sunny afternoon we we're lapping the Poma nonstop thanks to Waterville's new $99 Poma Pass. Get one and become the park rat you've always wanted to be.

Sofa King Kick Off Party

This Saturday January 16 we will be hosting the SKNE Kick Off Party at Crotched Mountain.  Video Park is cosponsoring us this year and all teams will have entry to the VIP park.  Registration starts at 6:30pm in the main lodge and all teams must be signed up and around the bonfire at 8pm.  There we will go over details and do interviews.  Following the meeting Video Park will open at 9pm.  Teams can either session the park or complete some of Crotched's objectives.  For teams the $50 fee will be due in cash that night. Also, any rider wishing to session the VIP park must bring in one small winter donation such as old gloves or hats. Tickets will be provided to each contestant.

The mountain will be open until 3am and everyone is encouraged to join. Spectators and riders will be partying around the bonfire which overlooks the park all night so come and hang.  30 racks are encouraged.

Park Update #1 - Mount Snow Carinthia

While Santa was packing his sleigh we traveled to the winter wonderland that is Mount Snow Carinthia. With two full parks open already these guys are weeks ahead of everyone else. Look for more updates as more terrain opens.

How New England Are You?

Welcome back to Sofa King New England 2010. For those of you who missed last year's contest here's the low down. SKNE is snowboarding's most fun and interactive team contest that not only relies on your riding abilities, but also the friendships you make through this lifestyle. Teams that sign up will be allowed to have up to four riders, one photographer, and one videographer just like last year. Everyone involved will get tickets to WACHUSETT, CROTCHED, WATERVILLE VALLEY, MOUNT SNOW, LOON, and new to this year's list BLUE HILLS. Upon arriving at each of these locations teams will gather their scavenger hunts lists from the mountain contact and will have that entire day to complete as many objectives as possible. As the contest progresses we will also add local urban spots in between stops for added bonus points.

Here's what teams will be responsible for:
-A standard 10-20 minute edit of all your riding, driving, partying, and whatever other crazy footage you can come up with.
-Each team captain must give at least one blog update per week to this site and quickly tell us about your experiences.
-As many photos of anything team related.

This month long contest will start SATURDAY JANUARY 16 at the kick off party. An administrative fee of $50 per team will get each team tickets to all six mountains, access to the blog, and a shit load of fun.
